Vietnam visa requirement for Japanese citizens
It is our pleasure to inform you that as a Japanese citizen, you require a Vietnam visa in order to enter Vietnam. There are two ways by which you can acquire a Vietnam visa when in Japan: you can get the visa directly from a Vietnam embassy or from a Vietnam consulate. Secondly, you can acquire your Vietnam visa by applying online with the help of an approval letter that you acquire from us. Below is an in-depth explanation on each of these two ways:
1. How to get your Vietnam visa from a Vietnam from a Vietnam embassy/consulate.

2. Apply online for an approval letter
With the approval letter you get form us, you will be able to:
a) Get your visa from a Vietnam international airport.
This procedure requires you to:
- Visit our website online and fill in all required details
- Clear the payments with us as directed by our instructions
- Receive the letter of approval from us by email in 48 business hours
- Preset your letter of approval, your passport and two of your most recent passport photos at any of the three international airports in Vietnam(Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh city, Noi Bai in Hanoi City, Cam Ranh in Nha Trang city and Da Nang in Da Nang city),, and clear the visa stamping fees so you can collect your Vietnam visa right away.
b) Obtain your Vietnam visa from a Vietnam embassy/consulate you choose in your application form
This procedure entails the following steps:
- Fill in your visa application form from our website
- Clear the service fee with us as explained in our directions
- Collect your letter of approval from us by email in 48 working hours
- Present your letter of approval, your passport and your two passport photos at the Vietnam embassy. You will then pay a visa stamping fee before you get issued your Vietnam visa.
Note: Conditions to get Vietnam visa:

- Your passport should be valid and been in your possession for more than six months
- The two passport-size photos you present at the Vietnam embassy must be ones you took within six months
- All information in your letter of approval must relate to that in your passport.
